And it is much easier than you might think. While BeerSmith comes loaded with myriad profiles, most of us have brewing systems that differ in many ways from them, hence the importance of creating a profile for your own brewery. These videos are my way of hopefully mitigating some of the intimidation you might experience when first messing around with BeerSmith.įor the first video, I focus on setting up an equipment profile/s, a requirement for those interested in precisely dialing in their numbers. Over the years, I’ve developed a decent grasp of many of these functions, which has made designing and making good beer much easier for me, in addition to improving my consistency.

Rager, fermentation profiles, etc, etc, etc. I was introduced to BeerSmith in May of 2011 and was initially overwhelmed with the plethora of options– equipment and mash profiles, ingredient lists, water calculator, Tinseth vs.

It said it was outside the 21 day trial period though, despite never having installed it before, so it seems a bit flaky. I just tried it on 12.04 here and it installed fine. That's the same way I installed it on my 10.10 box though and it worked fine.

Looks like the installer is trying to install the library files as owned by you rather than root. BeerSmith Full Cracked: New fermentation profiles, materials (hops, grain, water, yeast), and equipment can be added, or the ones that are currently in place. Yep it's busy, there's a lot of stuff packed in and it appears daunting at first. Stevetk189 wrote:I've had the BeerSmith trial running on my ubuntu 10.10 box and it's good. I have used qBrew from the software centre, it's pretty basic stuff and there's no facility for editing extract potential etc - not that I can find anyway Bit cheeky to charge full price for it though. The site does state the linux version is only a beta version though so I suppose a few glitches should be expected. The software developer is "looking into it running on a 12.04 system". I've had a quick shufty on the beersmith forum and there's a few 12.04 user grumbling about it. Just tried to install it, ready to purchase the unlock key, on my ubuntu 12.04 box and it's thrown up some warnings about package is of bad quality and a bunch of this stuff:Į: beersmith2: wrong-file-owner-uid-or-gid usr/lib/libwx_baseu-2.9.so 1000/1000Į: beersmith2: wrong-file-owner-uid-or-gid usr/lib/libwx_baseu-2.9.so.3 1000/1000Į: beersmith2: wrong-file-owner-uid-or-gid usr/lib/libwx_baseu_net-2.9.so 1000/1000Į: beersmith2: wrong-file-owner-uid-or-gid usr/lib/libwx_baseu_net-2.9.so.3 1000/1000 Related, when dealing with grains, you can also type in '4 oz' and it'll auto convert to 0.25 pounds. Yep it's busy, there's a lot of stuff packed in and it appears daunting at first. You can type in '40 quarts' in to the various volume fields, and Beersmith will auto convert quarts to gallons (it won't do other units from what I've seen though - just quarts to gallons). I've had the BeerSmith trial running on my ubuntu 10.10 box and it's good.
